THE INTERVIEW: WHO ARE YOU? Darrell Jackson Question: Who is the Texas Rebel? Answer: I'm one of God's children, which would make me Brother In Christ to all man kind. Question: Why do you call yourself a rebel? Answer: Well... it was a name given to me because I always tend to be the one who does things different. I've taken a liking to it because it sorta ties into what I feel God has called me to do. Question: What do you believe God has called you to do? Answer: Well, in this short time that he's given me here on earth. I feel God wants me to use the talent that he gave me in Music Production to bring his children closer to him. Question: So when did you realize this and how did this come about? Answer: Well, life is short... and I really came to realize this when I was involved in an accident that should have killed me. Since I could remember, I thought that I had the rest of my life in front of me, but what I didn't realize is that the rest of my life could be tomorrow. So now, I have a new mission. I want to use my talents in the music business to spread Gods message and to bring people closer to him through music. While I was growing up, I listened to some rough music because I liked the beat alone. But the lyrics put unholy trash in my head. So I want to reverse that. I want to make jazzy beats that will move people rhythmically, but at the same time... fill their minds with thoughts of Christ. I'm sorta rebelling against the way things have been done and doing something new by way of marrying the Genres of Christian and Gospel. I want to mix it up to where the music moves you from the begginning to the end, but be something a grand mother can listen to along side her daughter and they both enjoy it the same.
